I am a singer/songwriter and  I started playing guitar and writing songs when I was five years old living in Park Ridge New Jersey.  At 18 yrs I moved into New York City where I was in and out of the clubs for a decade before I made my first album Here It Is I toured the United States opening for my big sisters who were the groundbreaking folk trio The Roches.  Like a slow train I wrote songs and in 2007 I gathered the best of the crop and made my second  album, “Harp Trouble In Heaven”  Music and songwriting have been the constant through thick and thin and it took some striving before I put together my third album,“GRIEFCASE” in 2019.
I come from a family of artists and singers, poets, musicians and songwriters. My parents were Jack and Jude and they met while working as actors in a play. My three sisters were the avant-garde folk trio
The Roches. My niece Lucy Wainwright-Roche is a gifted singer and songwriter and her dad is the Grammy winning singer songwriter Loudon Wainwright III who is famous for being the best man at my wedding in Youghal Ireland. My nephew is the late great Edward Felix Mcteigue who wrote hit songs and left us all stunned when he unexpectedly passed in 2020. Greg Trooper is an enormously talented and sorely missed songwriter and singer who also happened to be my brother in law.  My daughter Oona is a star of stage and screen.  My mom wound up being the Poet Laureate of Warwick NY.
I’ve performed with my wife, my daughter, my sisters, my in-laws, my nieces and nephews.  I'm grateful that I can't stop doing it.
Another part of my musical life involves the one and only
Paranoid Larry. This is a guy whose songwriting cannot be over-hyped and for decades I played guitar in his “imaginary band” for a lot of wonderful shows here in New York that needed to be seen to be believed.
